Since 2011, BSK International is a partner for selected education projects for German Development Cooperation (GIZ), which are supported by various international stake holders and German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). 

The sole shareholder of GIZ is the Federal Republic of Germany, represented within Germany by the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and the Federal Ministry of Finance (BMF).

GIZ operates throughout Germany and in more than 130 countries worldwide. The registered offices are in Bonn and Eschborn. GIZ have 16,410 staff around the globe, almost 70 per cent of whom are employed locally as national personnel. There are also 785 development workers currently carrying out assignments for GIZ. In addition, CIM – which is jointly run by GIZ and the German Federal Employment Agency – places experts with local employers. At the end of 2014, GIZ had concluded subsidy agreements with 481 integrated experts, while 473 returning experts were receiving financial support and advice.

GIZ operates in many fields: economic development and employment promotion; governance and democracy; security, reconstruction, peacebuilding and civil conflict transformation; food security, health and basic education; and environmental protection, resource conservation and climate change mitigation.
